Am I completely crazy for not switching to a Tesla Model 3 ASAP??

Auto

Tell me if I’m way off here.

I currently drive a 2017 Mazda CX-5 with 120,000 km. I drive a lot, roughly 6,000 km/month between commuting and kids’ activities.

Current costs (approx):

Car Payment: $500/month Gas: $925/month Maintenance (oil changes, etc.): $150/month Total: $1,575/month+insurance

I’m considering switching to a used Tesla Model 3 for around $30k used (2022 w/under 100k km)

Estimated costs would be:

Payment: $575/month (5 years @ 5%) Charging: $100/month Maintenance: minimal (for now) Total: $675–700/month+insurance

So on paper, it looks like I’d be saving close to $800–900/month.

Am I crazy for not switching to a Tesla, or am I missing some major costs here?

Assume insurance is roughly comparable, but I’m open to being corrected on that too.

Would love a sanity check from people who’ve run similar numbers.
