Nighttime weaning help
My LO just turned 13 months and I’ve decided it’s time to cut out the nighttime comfort feeds. He goes to sleep on his own most nights without a pacifier although there are still nights I feed him to sleep. He currently wakes 3-4 times a night. I’m not sure which approach to take when it comes to weaning. If I pull him off too soon he won’t go to sleep and continues to cry, so I don’t know how gradually lessening nursing time will work. I’ve tried rocking him back to sleep but he will just scream, the same for dad. I want to avoid using a pacifier because I don’t want to get him hooked on another sleeping crutch. I guess what I’m asking is.. should I stay strong and continue to just try to rock him back to sleep with every wake up? Or start off with just 1 night feed? And if I choose to gradually decrease nursing time, is it just 1 feed at a time? And what do I do if he starts to cry once I pull him off?
