"The Other Side of the Wind" (2018) - Orson Welles

Asking a couple questions for those who have seen the film.

Without going over the plot summary in detail, the film is satirizing the shift from Old Hollywood to New Hollywood during the 60s and 70s. Most of the characters are obvious parodies of Welles’ friends, enemies, and contemporaries, some of whom were rich and powerful people. And most of those people were very much alive when Welles was originally making the movie.

With that in mind, how do you think people would have reacted to The Other Side or the Wind if Welles had been able to release it in 1977? Would they have been in on the parody portrayals in the film, and whom they were mocking? How controversial do you think the film would have been? Would it have been as well received by critics then as it has been now?
