NYC Mayor Mamdani just said in a press conference that NYC has a poverty rate double the national average. Why does Reddit overall portray red states as having all the poverty?
He also said over 60% of people in the city can’t afford basic living.
In my experience the same is true for Southern California.
I think deep blue states have a perception of being wealthy, but I think most people struggle harder than they would in other states.
