[TOMT][SONG][LATE 90s?] Very typical RnB song

Hi :)

Heard this in a restaurant last night, but was too late to Shazam it. Thought I'd be able to find it, but I didn't. And now it's bugging me.

Stylistically, it sounded like those typical RnB bands/artists from the second half of the 90s, like Boyz II Men, Toni Braxton - you know the era. I think I heard male voices, but it was too quiet to tell for sure. I remember noticing the hi-hat was very loud in the mix.

Some nostalgia-buttons in my brain went off which makes me think the song is actually from that timeperiod, but I may be wrong there.

The lyrics go "never ever" right at the start of that chorus melody, and, I think, "over" at the end of it - 'I will never ever ... admit that we were oooo-ver', or something? But searching for these lyrics doesn't help. It's not All Saints or Total Touch.
