My Anger

General

has always been a reflection of how hurt I was, but no one seemed to understand that. They only saw the way I raised my voice; they never looked deeper to see the pain behind it. I wasn't angry because I hated anyone. I was angry because I cared too much, and it hurt when I felt ignored, betrayed, or unloved. Sometimes my anger was just my tears hiding behind louder words. I wish people understood that when I was upset, what I really needed was comfort and someone to listen without judgment. I never wanted to be 'the angry one.' I just didn't know how else to show that my heart was breaking inside."
