Pumping Advice
Hi everyone!
I am currently 4 days pp and due to assumption with my first baby that I had low supply and ended up EFF him (and due to medical reasons on my end had to FF in the end anyways).
I hemmed and hawed about trying to BF this baby and combo fed in hospital for like 2 days. Ultimately I decided to say F it for my mental health and switched to formula again.
This morning I woke up and while I don’t feel fully engorged or anything I noticed my milk has come in. I have not pumped or had baby on breast at all for a couple days so of course don’t expect much since there hasn’t been a demand signal to my body.
I really don’t want to stress out over it but would love to try pumping while my baby is still formula fed just so I can kind of see what my supply can look like a bit (I know putting baby to breast is the most efficient but for now I truly, truly don’t want to whether that seems dumb or not I dunno).
So if you were me, wanting to casually-ish pump so i could maybe even offer a quarter of his feed to be breastmilk (keeping my expectations low with the hopes I can offer more but again, I don’t want to stress). What would your pumping routine be like in my shoes?
I hope all that makes sense!
