Partial meniscectomy on both knees?

Hey everyone. I'm recovering from a partial meniscectomy bucket handle tear on my right knee that I had done a little over 6 months ago. I had about 65% of my meniscus removed. The recovery is doing okay. I still have some swelling at the 2 knee incision points and I still can't quite pivot with my right knee either. When I stand up straight, I still can't fully extend my right knee while WB. My assumption is that it won't fully heal till my right knee adjusts to its new mechanics which can take up to a year plus. Trying to be patient with this recovery is difficult. But now I have a new problem.

I live in the northeast of US and we had a pretty harsh winter with snow and ice. Back in February while getting out of my car, I slipped on some ice and my left knee twisted awkwardly. It hurts the most towards the bottom part of my left knee 2 months later. I'm going to see the same surgeon who performed the partial meniscectomy on my right knee to see if he can have me do a physical exam and potentially order a MRI soon. My biggest fear is that I potentially tore my left knee meniscus while recovering/rehabbing my right knee.

I wanted to ask all of you if you've had surgical procedures done on both knees within a year of each other and if so, how is the recovery? I think I overcompensated too much on my left knee for months while my right knee was recovering, which caused my left knee to become weaker. If it helps I'm a 38M who used to have an active lifestyle before my right knee injury/surgery. If any of you have experience having knee procedures done on both knees, I would love to hear from you. Thank you for your time.
