How to obtain Pokémon within Champions?

Hi all.

I am wondering if anyone can share info about obtaining Pokémon directly in Champions?

From what I gather it's a rental system then you can make it permanent?

What I can't find is how the pool works. If I want a Sun team, can I target Chairzard/Venasaur in the rentals or is it random?

Thanks!
