How do you cope seeing people being promoted but you’re not despite getting full bonuses?

I’m on SWV and something is starting to eat away at me - seeing other people being promoted (none of which are on SWV). I’ve been applying but keep getting ghosted the moment I mention I need SWV.

In my company I keep getting excuses each time I mention the promotion but I keeps getting more work and I get full bonuses. So, performance isn’t an issue. They were eager to promote me initially until I mentioned I needed SWV and the SWV was resolved. Since then, it’s been one story after another. I know it’s because I have no leverage but can’t shake my mind off of how unfair it is.

How do people deal with this? Plus the embarrassment of seeing people promoted who aren’t putting in half as much effort but I need to put in all the effort to keep the visa. In return, I get more work dumped at me. Just needed somewhere to rant.
