6 days in hawaii
Hey everyone, I was looking for some advice on what to do in the back half of my Hawaii trip
I’m doing the NCL cruise and already have excursions planned:
- Maui (overnight): Road to Hana + Haleakela
- Hilo: Volcanoes
- Kona: nothing planned yet
- Kauai (overnight): helicopter tour + Napa Li coast boat
After the cruise, I have 6 extra days and am trying to decide how to split them.
Right now I’n considering:
3/4 days in Oahu (HNL) + 2/3 days in Kona (fly out home from KOA)
But I’m not sure if 3 days in Kona is too much, especially since I already visit both Hilo and Kona during the cruise.
Other options I was thinking about:
Stay all 6 days in Oahu , Do Oahu + Maui/Kauai/Hilo instead (but unsure how much Maui/Kauai would add)
What I am looking for:
- Good beaches (Will visit some on the cruise, but still looking for recommendations)
- Unique experiences (don’t want to repeat what we already did on the cruise)
- Good food is a plus (Heard a lot about Hawaiian food, but I’m vegetarian, so that probably changes things)
Questions:
- Is Kona worth 3 full days after already visiting Big Island on the cruise? (Ig I can do mauna Kea)
- Would Maui/Kauai still be worth it even with our current plans?
- Is Oahu enough to fill 5–6 days without getting bored?
Would really appreciate any advice (even criticism on my plan so that I can improve it).
Thanks!
