Do it scared, but do it anyway

Update on my prev post (https://www.reddit.com/r/phcareers/s/BBMgz60Usn)

So yeah, I ended up taking the new job. ✨

Tbh at first, I really felt like I made the wrong choice. Tama kayo, hirap pag start up!! 😭 It was overwhelming, I had a lot of headaches trying to understand everything, and I felt pushed way out of my comfort zone. On top of that, the communication part was really hard for me. I’m not used to speaking in English all the time, and I really missed having Pinoy workmates where I could casually talk to or rant with 😅

But over time, things slowly got better.

I started to understand how they work, their culture, and what people mean when they say “the Aussie way”. it’s actually very different from what I was used to. In a good way. Things became lighter, and the team was really supportive. Grabe ang worklife balance mga bestie! As in. My boss used to ping me on teams if i'm still online outside of work hrs (kahit nalimutan ko lang talaga mag offline) 😊

They also don't ask so many questions when you're taking a leave, in my case, LWOP pa. Ok lang sa kanila. As in wala silang pake kahit may pending ka pa as long as hindi naman sobrang dami na nkakaaffect na sa buong team.

I also noticed a big change in myself. Before, during catch-ups, I would barely talk… just “yes” or “no” answers. Now, I can actually explain things and speak more confidently during meetings. I’m still learning, but I’ve definitely grown a lot. Ako pa mismo nagtatankng if they're available for a call😂

I also recently got regularized, which honestly surprised me. Akala ko matatanggal ako agad sa sobrang overthinker malala. During my performance review, my bosses really showed appreciation for my work, and that felt so good. They even mentioned they’re training me so I can eventually step into a higher role, possibly part of the execs someday. I didn’t expect that at all especially since I didn’t experience that kind of growth in my previous job. Once lang alo napromote in 5 fckin yrs of hardship haha

So yeah… it was scary at first, but I’m really glad I took the risk. Thanks again to everyone who gave advice.. it really helped me make the jump. 🙌🙌🙌
