Struggling very badly but don't want to quit just yet
I'm recently past my 30-day mark for strict carnivore, but for a couple of weeks I've been in a really rough patch with my digestive system that's making it almost impossible to continue.
I have total loss of appetite (although I can feel that I'm hungry). I'm getting really sick of beef— even though it's the kindest option for me. Fats are also becoming very unappealing and sometimes nauseating.
No matter what I'm eating it's always making me bloat, giving me air, and pain... I can feel my stomach and intestinal tract literally complaining with any kind of food I give it, and so I'm hardly getting any food into me. In a day, I eat so little because of these factors that it's getting somewhat concerning, and it's even affecting my water intake...
I've tried other meats and egg. I can only tolerate them to an extent before I have to worry about histamines. I don't want to quit carnivore since I'm this far. Since I did feel some general improvement in the beginning, I believe it can and will help my digestion too. I just don't know how to get through this rough patch.
I'm currently seeking medical help for this, but currently the gastroenterologist I went to suggested an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy right away, without any simpler testing. As something still out of budget for me atm, I'm not sure what else can be done.
What is the benefit specifically for staying strictly carnivore and not reintroducing fruits/veggies in this state? My mother who is worried and not quite for my diet wants me to stop and put me onto a liquid diet for a period.
However, I worry that any starchy fruits or veggies might have a negative effect (I'm pretty sure the reintroduction of sugar for 4-ish days those few weeks back is what really worsened me).
Has anyone gone through something similar, and did you make it through this rough patch without quitting?
