O’s, Tigers, M’s, and Red Sox all have the same or worse record
Morning Jays land
Just wanted to put this out there because I was feeling pretty bleak after the game yesterday. We currently have the same or better record than the following teams:
Orioles 4-6
Tigers 4-6
M’s 4-7
Red Sox 2-8
Also cubs are 4-6 (doesn’t matter just for perspective)
It’s so early man. For some reason I told myself that this was a year where I wouldn’t make declarations before all star, and I think it’s important to take some perspective right now.
The teams in front of us are also flawed for the most part. The angels will fall off. Houston is old, rangers are mediocre, guards who knows, rays and royals are okay. I only see KC, NYY, and maybe one of the Texas teams finishing better than us out of those teams. The real competition for playoffs all started the same or worse than us.
Now I’m not getting into the way it happened, obviously a lot there to discuss. I’m just trying to say that even with half our team on the IL, we are still average (which means we are a good team when healthy) and we aren’t buried in the standings so we can let this play out.
If nothing else this group has earned the benefit of the doubt for this season, and we KNOW that positive vibes directly translates to good baseball for this group, so let’s just try to be good fans and be supportive. Stop the fucking booing too it’s embarrassing all of these lads give their damn all every night.
Leafs fans who may be new here, it’s going to be okay. And for the rest of you who may still be emotionally raw after last playoffs, we can take a sec to figure this out. It’s not winner take all anymore and won’t be for a bit. Our boys deserve that chance with us in their corner. We do not need to win every game, and we have 152 more shots at good baseball. Let’s just start the process tonight.
