Hello r/AskIreland community,

I built a fuel price tracking app for Ireland as a hobby project.

I initially started to building this, as I saw there were questions poping up in Galway reddit "where can I buy cheap fuel"?. I thought it would be interesting to build an app and see how the community responds. The initial reaction was great. he community absolutely loved it. In less than 24 hours, I got 90+ submissions. The initial app was not optimized for mobile- thus, during the long weekend, I improved it to make it a **mobile app**. Currently, I have over 240+ community submissions.

However, this kind of app is greatly driven by community engagement. That's why I tried to make it frictionless for community. During my spare time, I built this mobile app, where community can install it, and submit prices, either signing or without signing to the app. I made it easy to find fuel stations near current location by adding a pin icon. I also make sure, for signin users to get notifications, either daily, every 3 days, weekly, or bi-weekly, so that there's a steady stream of data being added to the platform.

I gain no monitory value out of this. It gave me genuine pleasure to see community being interested in this idea. Thus, I'm happy to keep going, until there's a steady flow of submissions. With steady flow of submissions, I can add new features like "cheap prices near me", trends etc.

Kindly let me know what you guys think. Is it worth? To me, it's the joy of building an impactful app for the community.

If you read this far, I hope you like the idea. If so, you can use following link and use it. You can install it in your device and keep using it- as a signed in user or not.
