MLB DFS DK & FD 4/7

MLB

Pitching

Jacob Misiorowski ($8.7k on DK) vs. Boston Red Sox

Elite matchup vs. a Red Sox team striking 29% of the time vs. righties

Throws fastballs heavily to both sides of the plate

Projected lineup has a 23% K rate vs. righty fastballs and just a.094 ISO this season

21 whiffs to lefties and 17 to righties this season

Immense upside, and weather is more favorable to pitchers tonight

Sandy Alcantera ($8.3k on DK) Vs. Cincinnati Reds

Has arguably been the best pitcher in baseball through 2 starts

16 innings across 2 starts and has yet to allow a run (not sustainable)

3.62 xFIP indicates some regression is coming, but still strong metrics across the board

31% chase rate is one of the best of all the pitchers throwing today

Will face 6 righties tonight

Uses a slider heavily vs. them. Projected lineup has a 30% K rate vs. righty sliders since last year

Not a huge K guy, but what he lacks in K upside, he makes up for with his efficiency and ability stay late in games

Cam Schlittler ($8.5k on DK/$9.9k on FD) vs. Athletics

Schlittler has been electric through 2 starts, striking out 15 and not allowing a run

He faces an A’s lineup that is back on the road tonight and that’s where they struggle

He throws his 4-seamer to lefties around 40% of the time.

Outside of Kurtz, all the lefties in this lineup have at least a 25% K rate vs. righty fastballs this season.

Like Boston, we’re going to see some weather that really should limit huge offensive numbers.

Strong matchup here for Cam

Taj Bradley ($7.3k on DK/$8k on FD) vs. Detroit Red Wings

Bradley is off to a solid start, striking out 12 through 2 starts and only allowing 1 ER

He’ll face a Tigers lineup that is off to a slow start. Through 10 games they have a slugging % of just .362

With the weather in the low 40’s around first pitch, I don’t’ expect them to suddenly find the power we saw last year

Bradley has been generating the most whiffs against lefties off his splitter, with 7 so far this season

All the lefties in this lineup have horrid numbers vs. righty splitters.

Keith (36% K Rate), Carpenter (40%), Greene (43%), Meadows (40%)

He should be able to continue with his turnaround

I don’t think you need to play guys like Skubal/Crochet/Sanchez tonight. Outside of Skubal, they are in less than ideal matchups

Hitting

Houston Astros vs. Kyle Freeland

Coors is one of the only environments tonight where we won’t see bitterly cold temps.

Freeland will be making his first start at Coors this season tonight

So far this season he’s thrown 2 very respectable outings.

Things are just different at home, although he really didn’t pitch much worst at Coors last year compared to his road games.

I’m starting this stack off with Yordan Alvarez. Alvarez is the best lefty hitter in the game vs. lefties. Although it’s a very tiny sample size, Yordan has success against lefty sweepers.

After him, I’ll look to Cam Smith (he’s having a breakout season), Altuve, Correa.

This whole lineup is in play though.

Rockies vs. Mike Burrows

As we saw last night, no need to shy away from the other side of this game.

I’m going to mostly focus on the lefties here as they have a .600 slugging % vs. Burrows so far through 2 starts

I’m going to build around TJ Rumfield here. Rumfield has been on strong to start the season, with 2 homers and 7 RBI and an OPS over 1.000.

After him, I’ll look to sprinkle in Jake McCarthy, Mickey Moniak (he’s all or nothing and has a better chance of nothing), and Troy Johnston.

Nats vs. Matthew Liberatore

He has just a 1.64 ERA through 2 starts, but an xFIP over 5. He’s due for some regression and it can come tonight vs. the Nats

Although they sit in last in the NL East, they’ve scored the most runs and only the Astros, Dodgers, and Brewers have scored more runs. They just can’t pitch.

Both homers that he’s given up this season have come against lefties.

The best hitter on this team is James Wood. After struggling mightily in the second half last, he’s turned it around to start the season.

He’s up to 3 homers and 9 RBI and is slugging .442.

Other lefty bats I like here will be CJ Abrams and Daylen Lile. Both guys have solid numbers vs. lefty fastballs.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Reynaldo Lopez

Lopez’s splits will not be in his favor tonight.

Righties have an ISO so far of .353 this season. He’s been struggling to get them out and has also given up 2 bombs to them.

This is a righty heavy lineup

I’ll build around Zach Neto, Jorge Soler, and Jo Adell. If for some miracle Trout is back, him too.

They all crush righty fastballs, when they make contact (also K risk here).

Dodgers are always in play.
