Beautyrest plush pillow top vs talalay 3 inch latex mattress topper?

In the market for a new mattress and while testing out a few in store I found the Beautyrest series 3 plush pillow top to be my favorite. Obviously with the $4200 price tag I'm a little hesitant to pull the trigger. I know a mattress topper is in no way a substitute for a luxury mattress, but I'm curious to know if the talalay 3 inch and another mattress may be the solution for me?
