Can I Use Daycare Like a Babysitter?

I stay with goofy questions, but FTM to a 5 week old. For reasons not relevant to the question, we will begin paying for full time daycare next month, despite not actually putting our girl in it until July.

With that being said, would it be frowned upon to just drop her off for an hour or two next month while we do things like the gym or errands? we are in no way ready or required to put her in full time right now, but were curious if we could utilize the care in that way since we’ll be paying for it and will have access to it? I have no experience with daycare, so I’m not sure if this is abnormal/not allowed.
