UKVI name update in progress – will this affect Schengen visa application?

Hi everyone,

I’d really appreciate some advice on my situation.

I recently got a new passport after marriage and added my partner’s surname alongside mine. After that, I wasn’t able to update my details on my UKVI account online, so I sent my passport to the Home Office.

I received my passport back within a week, along with a letter saying that the update would be reflected on my UKVI account within 21 days. It’s now been about 13 days, and the details still haven't been updated.

I’m planning to apply for a Schengen visa soon, and I’m a bit worried. Is it okay to apply in this situation, or should I wait until my UKVI details are fully updated?

Has anyone experienced something similar?
