2 Job Offers, 1 Big Dilemma, which one is the right choice?

Advice

So I just started a job selling security systems for a nationally recognized brand (US - TX). Still in the training phase so not cashing checks yet. It’s full commission and I think OTE is \~$90k, although that’s at 14 units and I know there are guys on the B2B channel selling nearly double that - they’ve been there quite a while. Boss is great, environment is great (not just a total grinder, cutthroat/constant pressure), no significant in-office requirements, and installs happen pretty quickly after sale so short cycle.

The problem is I’ve just been offered another gig selling office equipment B2B for a regional company that offers a $55k base and commission on top. I’m not sure what year one OTE is but pretty sure year 2 expectation is $150k+. Similar freedom in how I would work the business, prospect, etc. I don’t know the boss in the next gig or the environment; sense it could be a bit more of a grinder but that’s not always a bad thing (for me). I do know the cycle is a little longer for payouts, like 30-45 days, thus why year one isn’t as predictable.

  1. Is there any reason I **shouldn’t** jump ship (or you wouldn’t jump ship) to the job with the $55k head start?

  2. What questions am I not asking myself/the company (companies) that I should be.

Thanks for the help and advice; don’t want to keep spinning my wheels but go ahead and jump in fully with one of these companies.
