keep dating older women (10+ years older) — anyone else relate?

So this is me being real for a second.

I was raised and live in Mombasa, and I’ve also spent time in places like Malindi and Diani over the years. But when it comes to relationships, I’ve noticed a clear pattern… I’ve always dated older women — like 10+ years older than me.

Right now I even have a girlfriend, but sometimes I feel like I’m “playing below my level” or maybe limiting myself. At the same time though, I genuinely enjoy being with older women. The connection feels different — more mature, more real.

What’s interesting is many of them have kids (some even 4+), and honestly I vibe well with them too. The kids even end up liking me, which makes things feel more natural. I never cross boundaries, but the bond is there.

The funny (or weird) part is my friends don’t really understand it. Some even joke they wouldn’t be comfortable bringing me around their mums 😅

Now I’m kind of stuck in between:

\- Part of me feels like I could leave this pattern and try something different

\- Another part of me genuinely enjoys these relationships and feels at home in them

Anyone else been in a similar situation? Is this just preference, or something deeper I should reflect on?
