Chemical wave feeling prodrome?

I've been dealing with a newish symptom where it feels like I'm having some massive hormone wave a bit before the pain attack sets in. It feels like all the serotonin has been sucked out of my body and I'm hit with a pile of cortisol or something. I become absolutely paralyzed with an intense misery and, even though it is not my desire, I get a lot of suicide ideation and just feel overall VERY dark -- but still totally logical so I just sort of feel like I cannot move whatsoever. The feel is very intense and stressful and I cannot sleep through it or it feels like it crashes into me like a wave and I'm jolted up. Sometimes my ability to stay grounded through it feels overwhelmed and I become anxious and disoriented and of course my fear is that I lose it all together.

At first, it would go away when the pain starts, but now it persists through it or come back once the pain breaks.

It's intensely distressing. I found one paper about a man who had suicidal ideation as a prodrome, but it didn't describe the rest of the sensation. I guess I am just trying to figure out what the hell is going on because it is extremely distressing. I've brought it up to the doc and have been met with shoulder shrugs which is wild to me.

thanks
