Grade schools for dyslexic kids?
We are considering relocating to Toronto from the US. Our son is 7 in 2nd grade and was diagnosed with dyslexia around Christmas time. His school in the US is great but can’t meet this need. We are considering a private school here that specializes in kids who have high potential but who struggle with ADHD and dyslexia. However, the need to uproot the kiddo to a new school, combined with the total shitshow in the US right now, is making my husband wonder if this is the time to move back near his family. (He’s Canadian and his family is there.) I have been researching online but with a looming deadline for next year, and everything that comes with uprooting our lives I’m struggling to evaluate our options.
Our son has low needs ADHD, he’s tested as gifted but has been diagnosed with dyslexia and struggles immensely with decoding. He has an IEP to help with reading.
We are open to public or private, and would consider almost any cost for the right school.
I appreciate any insight! Thanks in advance.
