Dear candidate,

   Your attention is invited to the online application submitted by you for the upcoming Civil Services Examination, 2026 wherein you have applied under (General) category. Your attention is also invited to the provisions of the Rule 3 of the Civil Services Examination Rules, 2026, which inter-alia provide as under:

   "3. Every candidate appearing at the examination, who is otherwise eligible, shall be permitted six (6) attempts at the CSE. However, relaxation in the number of attempts will be available to the SC/ST/OBC and PwBD category candidates who are otherwise eligible. The number of attempts available to such candidates as per relaxation is as under:"

2. As a (General) candidate, you are eligible only for (6) attempts, whereas upon scrutiny of your records, it has been observed that you have already appeared in the Civil Services Examinations in the years (2024,2023,2022,2021,2020,2019). As such, it is clear that you have already availed (6) attempts.

3. Keeping in view the fact that you have already exceeded the permissible number of attempts available to your category of the candidates as prescribed under the relevant Examination Rules, you are hereby directed to provide a justification as to why your candidature for the Civil Services Examination, 2026 should not be cancelled.

4. Your reply, along with supporting documents, may be submitted at Email: cse-attempts@gov.in within a period of seven (07) days from the date of issue of this letter/email, failing which it will be presumed that you have nothing to say in this regard and action will be taken as per provisions of the relevant provisions of the Civil Services Examination Rules, 2026 without any further notice.

5. You are also requested to note that clarification/justification/reply received after the time limit prescribed above or to any other email ID or through any other mode will NOT be taken into consideration.
