Genspark burned 10K credits on one command. Fourth time. I'm done being quiet about it.

I've been sitting on this for a while because honestly I was just tired.

Tired of fighting, tired of explaining, tired of watching Genspark treat every resolution like they'd personally performed open heart surgery on my account when really all someone did was press a button.

But I'm seeing this thread blow up and I realise I'm not the only one and this needs to be said properly.

I'm a builder. Not a casual user. I was using Genspark's AI Drive as persistent memory for my AI agent stack — before MCP servers were a thing, before any of the modern solutions existed. I stored my agent's memory, its notes, its context, all in its own voice, directly in the Drive. That's how my system remembered who I was between sessions. I built something I called VERITAS in there. An entire multi-agent architecture. Genspark's AI Drive was where it was born.

So when they cancelled my subscription in March without warning — after I'd called them out publicly — they didn't just take away credits. They took away my agent's memory. Eight months of work sitting behind a paywall I suddenly couldn't access.

Here's where it gets properly kak. They added 25,000 credits back. 5K on March 2nd, 10K on March 3rd, 10K on March 9th. But they didn't reinstate my Plus subscription until March 9th or 10th. Without Plus, AI Drive throttles to 1GB - instead of the standard 50GB that comes with the Plus sub - and you cannot use it. So I had 25,000 credits just sitting there, completely useless. Like having cash in a wallet you physically can't open.

When Plus was finally reinstated, with Genspark acting like they'd solved world hunger by pressing the button, I used the credits to migrate my memory out amd consolidate everything from AI Drive into an MCP memory server so I'd never be this exposed again. Credits gone almost immediately. No log. No breakdown. Fine. I was just relieved to get my memory out.

Then on March 26th. I resubscribed again. Paid. Again. 10,000 credits land. I run one command — push the remaining stored data from Genspark AI Drive to my new memory server. The agent announces it's done. I close the app.

A few days later. Zero credits. Gone.

Like an ANC cadre with a government tender.

No usage log. No warning before it started running. No "this will consume X credits, continue?" Nothing. Just — done. And then nothing left.

And now I'm reading this thread and u/Turnfan is burning 10K in an hour on work that used to last a month. Someone ran a cleanup script and lost 40K. Annual subscribers who built their whole workflow on this platform are getting the same support blackout I got. People in Italy writing in. People switching to Claude and Manus and anything else just to escape the unpredictability.

Here's the thing nobody's saying loudly enough about their "NEW UNLIMITED CHAT" announcement. That "unlimited chat" is completely memoryless. You can't attach an MCP. You can't give it persistent context. It remembers nothing between sessions. It is — and I mean this literally — the same as Meta AI in WhatsApp. The same as the AI button in your Facebook feed. Novelty chat. Useful for things you'd otherwise Google. That's it.

The credits are what power the Super Agent. The Super Agent is what can actually use tools, access your Drive, chain tasks, run real workflows. That's what makes Genspark different from every other chatbot. And they just made the useless part unlimited while keeping the useful part completely opaque with no logs, no warnings, no transparency.

Most users won't clock that distinction. Which is exactly why it works.

$275M raised. $200M annual revenue. They bragged publicly about spending $266,000 PER SECOND on a Super Bowl ad. My support ticket auto-response says allow up to a week.

They're also a FEATURED PARTNER on ANTHROPIC'S website. Anthropic published a case study celebrating their Super Agent architecture. Claude — the model I'm using at the moment — is the one coordinating the agent flow that consumed my credits. Anthropic should probably know what's happening to the end users of that partnership.

I've emailed the CEO, @Eric Jing. Silence. I've emailed support. Auto-response. I've been patient through four separate incidents and documented every one of them.

If this happened to you — post what you've got. Dates, amounts, what you were doing, what support said back. The more of us that document this properly, the harder it becomes for a multi billion-dollar company to pretend it's a coincidence.

And Genspark — you know where to find me. The offer to sort this directly still stands. But I'm not holding my breath anymore.
