How much is your identity is tied to your gender?
Like when you think about yourself, how much are you thinking about your gender when thinking about what makes you, you?
Biologically and socially, I am a man. But me being a man is not something I care a whole lot about? One way I put it was, say if I woke up one morning as a biologically as a woman, I would be surprised for sure but I don't think it would make me feel any less like me.
Considering persons within the LGBTQ community (and for that matter, any person), I can absolutely understand the need and importance for specific language to describe who they are gender-wise or sexuality-wise.
But are you someone who maybe either gender-wise fall on the binary or somewhere in between if pressed on the question of "what gender am I", but don't actually feel like you need that defined to feel like you? Have you identified yourself as "queer" perhaps or again, is a label not something you need? haha.
