I am trying to rent a house with my boyfriend and our friend, what are our options?

Hi everyone, me, my boyfriend and my friend are recent graduates trying to move in and rent together. We have been looking at properties but have been told that since we are a couple +1 that we cannot rent a normal house? Is this correct? Is there any way to get past this? The reason for moving in together is so we can share and save money to eventually buy.

We were told to look for house shares but we can’t find any and they seem to be student houses if we can.
