Take a gap year after I finish school, Yes or No?

I finish school this June and I was thinking of taking a gap year where I work full-time at the convenience store, then after that, do a training course in further education. Is this a good idea considering I'm autistic and currently on disability allowance and id be taken off ksg of it if I took the job, I would make more money in the job than I have on disability allowance.

It's just that I'd like to start making my own money and being independent from my parents, and sitting on a desk writing all day can be tiring
