What actually helps with repeated small impulse purchases that make saving harder?
I’ve been thinking about how some people don’t really have a major income problem, but still struggle to save because of repeated impulse spending.
Not big shopping sprees — more like:
-little treats
-convenience buys
-emotional spending
-cheap things that keep repeating
Individually, they don’t seem like a big deal.
But over time, they make saving much harder than expected.
For people who’ve dealt with this, what actually helped the most?
-tracking what category the spending fell into
-noticing what triggered it
-using a waiting rule before buying
-something else entirely
I’m curious what made the biggest difference for you in real life.
