Best upgrade from kit lens (16-50mm) on Sony A6000?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been using a Sony A6000 for about 8 years now, mostly with the kit lenses. I really enjoy the Sony E 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS, but the Sony E 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS has always felt a bit frustrating to use — not entirely sure why, it just doesn’t quite deliver for me.

I’m looking to upgrade that lens. I mainly use my camera for travel (I’ve got a trip to Hokkaido planned for February), but also for family gatherings and events.

Right now I’m considering the Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD or the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary, but I’m open to other suggestions.

What would you recommend as a good replacement for the 16-50mm?
