Success & starting my journey!

Hey all!! Wanted to share some good and get some advice.

I was seen yesterday at a lymphatic and wound care clinic and southwestern PA. I was listened to and acknowledged by the NP I saw.. and I got the diagnosis!

She is sending me to get fitted for medical grade compression garments and a leg pump, which she believes will be fully covered by insurance (very important to use the lymphedema diagnosis code as well)! Additionally, she’s referring me to get a vein evaluation for poor circulation, pain and some spider veins in my calves. She said she doesn’t think anything else is necessary at this time and that I’m way too young (24) to have any of these symptoms.

I was told by both plastic surgery and vascular surgery that they could not help treat me or give me a diagnosis, so I’m very excited!

Looking for some advice on which type of garment is best for full leg lipedema (type 3) and if there is anything I should know about leg pumps! Thanks!!

(p.s. you guys have educated me so much! The NP was pleased by how much I knew (cause, treatment, symptoms, etc) so shoutout to this subreddit!!)
