About the 'Top Umadol Project'

Hi, I have a question. I am kinda new to the game and I haven't finished career mode at least once. So, I was wondering the requirement of "Complete at least 1 career playthrough during the event to receive Collective Rewards" is there in the event home screen because, I haven't finished the career at least once or it because, everyone has to do it? Thanks in advance.
