My son 9yo has chronic low Ferritin, what to do?

Question

My son has very low Ferritin for years now. He is taking Iron supplements since July 2025. He tool them for about 3 months and his Ferritin actually dropped. We have been making sure he doesn't eat dairy within a few hours of the supplement. We went to see a resident hematologist and she basically said his body just has low ferritin. My son eats pretty healthy because of fructose intolerance he has. Almost everything has fructose so we must make everything our selves.

My question is should I be satisfied with the answer given by the Dr? Cause I'm not really satisfied? What other tests should I have performed ? What else should be looked into?
