I am so tired of throwing away food because its never made right.
I dont know why im writing this, maybe to vent, maybe to get other opinions, or just to get it out.
Background info, M, 30, recently diagnosed a few months ago. Diagnosed ADHD months before that. Been on Adderall for 10 months, was not on them for two days prior because I dont want to build a tolerance, I dont want to up my dosage.
I have a very selective diet, selective of probably a 6 year old (im 30). I am the chicken finger and french fries person, no sauce EVER, salt and pepper only. Anything I eat is plain, salted, no seasoning, nothing special, salt, pepper, cheese, brown, tan, boring, flavorless.
I think the last 3 or 4 times ive gone out to eat, I ended up throwing the food out. Chic fil A gave me soggy rubber tenders, Red Robin gave me tenders that had too much "chicken" taste and texture, and wasnt cooked enough so the breading wasnt crunchy, and just yesterday i decided to take a drive to the burger king i know usually never messes up, and i got half soggy undercooked nuggets, and the other half sat out for 5 hours and had the texture of your grandpa's old leather belt.
I dumped them out onto the tray, didnt even have to look i just knew by the sound they were fucked. I tried anyways, I tried to bite one, was rock hard, I instantly said nope.
I wanted to cry, I wanted to scream at the employees why the fuck cant you ever cook these right, I wanted to throw the stool through the window. I just balled up the nuggets and fries and threw them back in the bag, threw it out, and launched my full soda across the parking lot. (I HATE littering, but at the moment I didnt care)
I did my best to drive home calmly since my girlfriend was with me. I kept telling myself not to drive like an animal because that would have been a 130+ mph ride home if I were alone.
To top it off, I tried to occupy my mind when I got home by cleaning my garage that ended with a piece of vacuum going through my garage window at Mach 2.0. tried hanging up two tools on my pegboard, one kept falling, the other fell on me at the same time and thats when I blew my lid and threw the vacuum part.
So now im hungry, and have to pay to replace a window.
This also goes for regular packaged store bought food. An entire package of chips ahoy tossed because I can tell they changed something, and theyre smaller. I can probably write on a flash card how many things I eat, so when something is changed, I notice immediately. ive stopped going to so many restaurants because of changes.
Why is my patience non-existent anymore? Am I just tired of incompetence? Are my expectations too high? I work in an oil refinery, if I do my job wrong, I, and probably others, will die. Even when I had low wage jobs, I still did them as good as I possibly could. I never worked food industry because I can't touch foods I won't eat, but I know if I did id absolutely never send out half the shit ive been served recently. I rarely ever have the guts to go up and ask for a refund so I just eat the cost and not the food.
