About the second half of season two

SpoilerS2 Spoilers

Hey y'all! Had a question, and was hoping someone could give me some thoughts. I welcome spoilers for the entire show in the comments--I literally do not mind, and have absorbed most of the plotlines through my friends by now hah.

I've mostly finished s2 (I'm going to admit it, I love reading the transcripts before watching the episodes themselves), and I wanted to ask--was Will genuinely working with Hannibal at times? Or was it all part of a ruse to catch him with Jack's help? Essentially, between Freddie's fake murder, Randall Tier's death, and his brief alliance with Mason, I was curious just where the line lay between facade and honest intent. I was discussing it with my friend, and they maintained he was pretty much just doing what felt right, and playing Jack in order to test out a new side of himself. That didn't seem entirely accurate to me, and I was a little surprised by how quickly it seemed like Will fell into the murderer lifestyle. To me it seemed like mostly an act, but when it came to the act of killing, it all felt a bit blurred.

Curious about others' thoughts and input :]
