Where did this bass come from?

My friend got this bass handed to him by his grandfather but since he’s a guitarist he didn’t need it, so he handed down to me.

I don’t know where this bass came from or if it’s rare or not but I wanted to customize it in the future so I figured it’d be nice to know where it came from. I checked google and reverb and I couldn’t find anything :’(
