What's your experience with defective MSI monitors?

I have a 27 inch 144Hz IPS panel monitor that I got less than a couple of years back (within the 3 year warranty period) that started having screen flickering issues on the bottom portion.

I raised a ticket and they said I'd have to ship it to them. After which, they'd evaluate it to see if they can fix it. If not, they would send me a new one. However, if they seem the issue was caused by user error, then they wouldn't fix it. Additionally I live in the US but for whatever reason the shipping address they have given me is for Canada.

Now, I'm ok with paying a $100 something for the shipping (which is almost half the cost of the monitor) if they can guarantee that the issue will be fixed. However the way the RMA was worded, it seemed like there's a chance they may not honor the warranty (I fear they may try to claim water damage or something along those lines). Last thing I want is to pay shipping but get the monitor back in the same condition.

Ive not had much of a problem dealing with Dell or AKG in the past where they sent me a return label on their own. So I did some research and ended up finding a ton of posts complaining about how awful the MSI return process is (EVEN UNDER WARRANTY).

So....is there anything I can do at all? Cause if this is how they choose to do business, then I might just keep the monitor (with the flicker, streaks and dead pixels) and avoid any and all MSI products altogether. Thoughts?
