Question about changing paints? Citadel paints to Vallejo or Tamiya
G'day everyone, bit of a noob question that I am struggling to get a straight answer on, for a few years I’ve been painting Minis for DnD but am moving on to model building and having a go at some dioramas, as a result I’m looking to change paints for various reasons.
I’ve pretty much been using Citadel paints up until this point, however for the military models I’m looking at changing to either Tamiya or Vallejo paints. I have been trying to get some answers to a few questions and am hoping someone here could help out.
Basically, I am going to be brush painting with these paints (no air brush). Do both Tamiya and Vallejo work well for this? Is one better than the other? I would prefer to think with water like I do for citadel paints as I understand I can do this with Vallejo paints but for Tamiya I need to used their thinner for the best results?
I would also really like to use my Wet pallet for painting, how do both of these perform on the wet pallet?
If anyone has an input on moving from Citadel paints to Vallejo or Tamiya id really love to hear your experience.
