Cannot remap Quick Settings button or set Guide button in Handheld Companion

A friend lent me his Claw 8 AI to see if I might want to buy it and while I like the hardware, I'm caught in A Tale of Two Janks with MSI Center M and Handheld Companion.

I've had HC disable MSI Center M. I want to remap the Quick Settings button to just press Guide or if need be, set another button to Guide, but I can't do either. If I add a new mapping and press the Quick Settings button, it just brings up Game Bar and HC doesn't recognize the key press. If I try to map Guide to another button, there's no option for it. I can set the button to bring up Game Bar, but there's no Guide option. There is a Special controller map I can set, but that just doesn't do anything.

The software on this thing makes me want to punch a kitten (not really), but I'm hoping someone knows a fix for this.
