Doom Eternal for Ultrakill player?

I'm not really an avid FPS player, but recently got into the genre playing Ultrakill. And after getting all the P-ranks on Standard difficulty I went looking for more similar experiences.

I gathered that people don't really like Doom Eternal compared to 2016 because of its restrictive mechanics of weapon switching and gamey cramped arenas. But since Ultrakill is kind of like that too and I liked it, may be Eternal would be a good pick for me?

I know that it is slower than Ultrakill, but honestly I'm down for a more methodical gameplay. I have a toxic relationship with timers and ranks in games, where I feel like I hate them, but can't stop trying for a highscore.
