Is my insurance company charging me too much?

Hello! I’m with an insurance company for my car, I’m just wondering if I’m paying way too much because it seems like I am. I was in a car accident last year which involved me driving through an intersection with a yellow light. I was t-boned by a car going 60 in a 50 zone, I was still deemed at fault for driving through the yellow light even when the other person had a red. I paid my ticket, got a new car, no one was hurt in the accident, no worries 🤷🏼‍♀️ I get my 2 demerit points for 2 years and we’re golden. Now I assumed my insurance would go up, I have been driving for 5 years, no accidents no tickets no infractions beforehand. I am a class G driver and have been since just before the accident.

Like I said, I assumed my insurance would go up, before, driving a 2016 model car I was paying 275, cool, I can afford that. Got my new car, 2023 model, electric. Beautiful car, love it. Get my insurance renewal, it’s gone up to 575. Insurance has also said that they want to drop me off insurance because I am now considered a liability.

I can’t tell if this is a normal amount for it to go up or if I’m seriously being charged way more than I should. I don’t have a dad who can tell me this kinda stuff so at this point I’m resorting to Reddit 😅 if you guys have any thoughts or advice on this I would greatly appreciate it, thank you!
