Competitive Progression Game

So to put it simply, I am looking for a competitive game that has a high focus on progression. I am aware I may not be able to achieve both of those as most MMOs are progression oriented without the competitive aspect. I recently picked up warframe and while I do enjoy it, I feel like it is not hard whatsoever and the gameplay is just a simple loop to achieve new frames that achieve the exact same thing when it comes down to it. I’ve also been looking at Path of Exile. I like unique loot as well. Any suggestions for either progression or competitive based would be great, I just want something to grind.
