Sinking

Don’t people say that the stars watch over us?
But when something bad happens, not a single fuss
They still twinkle brightly
On and on and nightly
Nightmares disguised as a dream
Drowning endlessly in a lonely stream
Silent screams in midnight’s grip
A sinking ship on a sinking trip
No one cares about the lost
No one thinks about the cost
But the ocean will forever remember
As if we had always been together
