Update on my Trigen nightmare
I made a post that got mixed reactions and I have an update. I’ve seen some get accused of scaring themselves into a horrible experience by looking into Trigen beforehand, but that’s not what happened here.
-
I took name brand for 12 years from 6-18
-
got prescribed again at 36mg and took the medication first without any thought. Had no clue about the manufacturer at this point, just that it was generic.
-
I had the worst week of my life and quit taking it on day 6 per my psychiatrist’s recommendation.
-
decided to deep dive and found other people with a similar experience, and this sub.
-
switched to name brand @ same dose
-
no side effects outside of appetite loss
I understand that some people tolerate it fine and others do not. I am one of the unlucky ones.
My Trigen side effects were release issues causing highs and lows, rapid resting heartrate of 140bpm+ during the highs, diarrhea multiple times a day, extreme nausea that made it difficult to function and move. After switching to name brand, my first day up until now I hardly notice I took anything side effects wise. As for focus I feel it works and the delivery is smooth from start to finish. Might move up to 54mg soon actually.
