Recently received a toy

& when my boyfriend was going through the app he skimmed past a page where it showed friends & there was a girl circle. He quickly swiped & I was like “was that a girl?” & he sighed & said “yes that’s my ex from like 6 years ago”. She had a pink/purple ring around her profile. Does this mean they had recently interacted? Or what does this mean.
