Painted up "The Fellowship of the Ring" as the first batch and then followed up with the two models of "The Witch-King of Angmar" from Gamesworkshop. To fill out the second paint batch I did 4 Wizkids Magic the Gathering minis: Rowan, Will Kenrith, Stoneforge Mystic, and Kor Hookmaster and also 2 Hero Forge minis I FDM 3D printed named Gath and Yllana.

First off I realized I'm super rusty at model assembly. The poor Witch-King has a sad crown with droopy spikes when I squished them during assembly. Opted for the hooded robe alt build for the horseback one...

I've been painting minis sitting on blobs of poster putty and that was rather challenging with the fellowship models since they are on the bars for slotted bases. The models keep rocking back and forth perpendicular to the slot bar. I have an idea of what I want to do for basing the LOTR minis but I don't have the supplies yet so that's a future me problem.

Some things I liked from painting these two batches. Frodo's sword "Sting" came out nicely. It was just a base coat of bright silver then a coat of Magic Blue speed paint. The grey highlights on the Witch-Kings and Stoneforge Mystic is far more subtle in person than on my phone camera which looks much nicer. I also played a bit with a micro felt tip pen to scribble some scribbles on Yllana's book.

Bonus pic! The post painting aftermath of the second batch. I put everything back on the racks before starting another batch at least before Entropy strikes again.
