Left the office

General Discussion

I’m the typical middle age millennial who’s went to a prestige college, got white collar jobs, worked my way up the ladder to the triple digits. Then life smacked me so bad- laid off job after job, spent months looking for another one with rounds of interviews and wasted hours tweaking my resume to sound just right.

I have no money, nothing to my name. Lost my house, burnt through all my savings I did everything “right”, and it got me no where.

I’ve never held a tool in my life, but ran out of options. Got a minimum wage job working grunt work for a small general labor LLC. I’ve never been more happy in my life. I’m broke AF, barely make ends meet, but man I am happy.

My marriage has improved. I spend more time with my family. I quit drinking. I don’t wake up and hate life. I have no idea how I’m going to pay my bills, but damn at least I’m happy.

Don’t know why I’m posting this. Just sharing my story I guess. Spent 20 years of my life chasing money and promotions, working so many hours, trying to please so many people. Just to end up with nothing to show.

I’ll dig ditches all day if I never have to work in corporate again.
