I'm from Kerala so we don't speak Hindi here, but we do study it in school, but you know it's just for marks kinda study. Same goes for our own language Malayalam, mostly it's studied till 10th grade and most people from private schools usually won't be able to properly read stuff fluently. Basically we (I mean most here) use English and it feels the most comfortable to type and read. If you were to make a comparison, you could view any subreddit from Kerala and most of the posts and conversations in the comments would be in English idk why we do it but yeah. Now I can understand Hindi I mean the kind of Hindi used by Hindi youtubers which I would like to call as modern Hindi ig, like some English mixed with Hindi or Hinglish, but not the one used by the Prime Minister the deep Hindi that's impossible for me to understand. Now over here in the North Indian subs, like this, most posts are in Hindi, if not posts atleast comments are, so I've been trying to read em and it's mostly easy as long as it's Hindi in English text and not the Hindi script, and there are these words like yaar, areyy, hanji, bilkul used almost everywhere, like what's the context at which these are perceived are they used as a part of formal talk or are they only used among friends typa words ?. like I remember watching one lokh Sabha argument video and there someone used the word yarr and then the speaker said, "What yaarr sir ? use that in your home !" so that's why I'm asking. Is this text Hindi that's seen here on reddit the real language you guys use in daily life nowadays or is it the Modi Hindi which you use formally and use the modern one on reddit ?. I'm looking forward to improve my Hindi so what's the best way to master Hindi and speak fluently ?

What's the meaning of Arey, yaar ?
