State Farm total loss valuation seems low, worth pushing?
Hey guys,
I’m dealing with a total loss claim and wanted a second opinion.
Car: 2016 Hyundai Tucson SE AWD, ~60k miles, NYC area.
State Farm’s valuation came out to about $10.4k ACV (~$11.4k with tax). My loan balance is around $12.4k, so I’m a bit upside down.
After reviewing the CCC valuation report, I see their comps are mostly in the $10k- $11.5k range, but I’m also seeing similar vehicles listed around $15k-$16k (Carvana and similar platforms), which makes the offer feel low relative to actual replacement cost in my area.
Also, my vehicle had a recently replaced engine, which doesn’t appear to be reflected in the valuation.
I’ve already pushed back and asked them to review the numbers.
Does this seem like a typical valuation, or is it worth pushing harder? Has anyone successfully gotten a meaningful increase in a similar situation?
Appreciate any insight.
