traveling while applying for h4

guys! great to be the part of this community. i am in a situation where i dont know what to do

1. my partner just got picked in h1b lottery
2. it was l1b to h1b change of visa. that means my l2s is going to convert in h4. my l2s is valid till july 2027.
3. I want to travel for a pilgrimage to india for 40 days. but i have heard that i can't travel when my h4 is being processed. is it true ? can't i just travel on my l2s visa. (have l2s stamped visa) **i can ask this to fragoman. but trust level is really low.
